Rabindranath Jayanti celebration (9th May 2022). They say a nation is defined by its literature and Rabindranath Tagore stands in the forefront of India’s rich literary heritage. A Nobel laureate for his book of poems Gitanjali in 1913 and with world class works under his belt, Rabindranath Tagore has gained fame on the world stage and will always stand foremost among the many who have made India proud. His unforgettable work has been translated in many languages and award winning movies have forever been etched in celluloid history. Who can forget his iconic work ‘The Kabuliwallah’ which tugs at the heartstrings to his classic Choker Bali. A poet, playwright , composer, painter, an essayist and a great social reformer who was way ahead of his time Rabindranath Tagore shines brightly amongst those who have reshaped human existence. It is a great honour to be here celebrating the man and the legacy he left behind.
